How Should I Respond To Difficulties In My Prayer Life?

Advent should be a time for contemplation. Prayer isn’t always smooth and easy. It comes with difficulty and at times distraction. The mystery of Christmas is profound. It was a particular moment of history when the human spirit had to maintain silence in the face of the mystery that was beyond them.

Making time for silence is to listen for how to love more deeply. How and where do I see the Lord inviting me to persevere through difficulties in my prayer life?

Today’s “Advent with the Saints” audio reflection on St. John of the Cross invites us all to make time to reflect on the incarnation. Let’s take some time to silence our own hearts and minds to listen to what God has to say to us today in our own lives.
