Living in the Spirit: Day 1

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. And You shall renew the face of the earth. O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations, through Christ Our Lord, Amen.

Novena Prayer 

O Holy Spirit, the bond of love between the Father and the Son, teach me how to love. Move my heart unto the perfect gift of self, and so transform me into a living member of Christ, for Christ is God and God is love (1 Jn 4:8).

Remove in me any obstacle that keeps me from loving. Vanquish all pride and self-love from my heart. Free me from every form of slavery to the senses that bind me and prevents me from giving myself to others. Purify my intentions so as to seek your good pleasure above all else, and to never be moved by the esteem of others or by their approval.

Lord of love, grant me the security of knowing myself to be infinitely loved by you and to irradiate that love to others.

Amen.
