On the Road This Summer – Weekly Message for July 28, 2015

Dear Friends in Christ,

The online ministry of RCSpirituality often has me behind a computer or on the phone, when not in the chapel praying for you all! If you know me personally, it will come as no surprise that this summer I eagerly left the desk to mix and mingle face to face.

Approaching three years’ work building RCSpirituality, I decided to hit the road and fly the skies to connect with you, our faithful digital pilgrims and missionaries. I don’t always get to see how your lives are touched by a reflection eloquently presented by Fr. John in a Retreat Guide, or how answers by Fr. Edward at Ask A Priest bring clarity and consolation to the most confusing scenarios.

How wonderful it’s been to learn, listen, share, and pray with many of you. From my summer travels, I am tremendously encouraged to see how many people are benefitting from RCSpirituality. I have met men and women who are searching for ways to grow spiritually and persevere in the Faith amid life’s challenges.

As a RCSpirituality subscriber shared with me in CT this past week,

You not only give me ways to grow personally but I now feel encouraged to have ‘tangible tools’ to share the faith with family and friends who are also seeking to grow closer to Christ. Thank you!

I drove down to Charleston, South Carolina, to represent RCSpirituality at The Edel Gathering hosted by Jennifer Fulwiler and Hallie Lord earlier this month. I met so many faithful women who support each other through personal blogs on Catholic motherhood. I saw how our online resources can serve this busy group of moms when and where they can get their spiritual food, often in the home at night after the kids are in bed. That’s where online ministry comes in!

A friend visiting my booth in Charleston told me she was pleasantly surprised to see that the booklet version of a Retreat Guide included not just the text but also the beautiful artwork she had admired in the video format. She plans to use the Retreat Guide DVD and booklet on Martha and Mary: The One Thing Needed to help her friends understand the beauty of giving God priority in the family’s weekly schedule, especially Sundays. She put in a personal request for more inspiring Retreat Guides on the saints, like Sitting in the Side Pew, a Retreat Guide that tells the story of the American saint, wife and mother Elizabeth Ann Seton.

Has RCSpirituality helped you to grow spiritually or to share your faith with friends? What would you like to see more of? We look forward to hearing from you! If you would like to learn how the RCSpirituality team can visit your community, please contact me at lucy@rcspirituality.org

With the assurance of my prayers,

God Bless
