Teams work together by praying together: Weekly Message for 02-23-16

Teams work together by praying together!

Dear Digital Pilgrim, pax Christi:

Last week I had the joy and the privilege of participating in a semi-annual offsite meeting with some of the core members of the RCSpirituality.org team.  Only a few of us were together, but since normally we all work in different parts of the country as a ‘virtual team’, this being-together was particularly satisfying.  Authentic Christians are never Lone Rangers.  Jesus himself wasn’t a Lone Ranger.  He gathered his Apostles around him and set his saving mission in motion by creating his Church.  Even God isn’t a Lone Ranger – he has revealed himself as a Trinity, as three Persons in one divine nature. So my key takeaway is that no one can do it alone. We discover our mission and how to live it in relationship with others.

Last week’s gathering gave some of the core members of our team a chance not only to review plans, make necessary adjustments, and refresh our vision, but also to enrich each other spiritually and apostolically.  It is not easy to create and maintain a healthy team.  But we all know that if we don’t take time to invest in doing just that, our hopes and dreams of serving Christ and helping to spread his Kingdom will have much less of a chance to bear fruit.  Working together on this exciting mission of evangelizing the digital continent isn’t just about getting things done; it’s also about loving and hoping and journeying together through this pilgrimage of faith. As St. Paul encourages us to appreciate…

There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same Spirit; there are different forms of service but the same Lord; there are different workings but the same God who produces all of them in everyone. To each individual the manifestation of the Spirit is given for some benefit. 1 Cor 12:4-7

As we met, discussed, planned, and enjoyed being together, we were constantly referring back to you.  In our minds and hearts, each of you is part of this team.  We may never meet you in person, but without you benefitting from our efforts, our mission would have no purpose.  And without your support – your prayers, your donations, and your sharing of our materials with other people who can also benefit from them – our mission would have no vitality.  Thank you for being part of our team!

So this is my shout out to say thank you to our core team  (and all of you!) for the hidden ways you make RCSpirituality possible. Please continue to keep us in your prayers and know you can reach out to anyone of us. We would love to hear from you at contact@rcspirituality.org to set up a moment to discuss ways we can serve you any other suggestions or ideas you may have.

Wherever God has you right now, know that you are also in our hearts and minds.  And wherever God leads you as you continue fulfilling your own personal mission in his Kingdom, please keep us in yours as well.

Praying you are receiving many graces and experiencing the tremendous power of God’s mercy this Lent.

God bless,

Lucy Honner
