Go out to all the world and tell the Good News!: Weekly Message for 08-20-2019

Dear Digital Pilgrims in Christ,

In this coming Sunday’s liturgy, we will hear the exhortation from Jesus in the gospel of Mark to “go out to all the world and tell the Good News.”  A command that is certainly challenging, encouraging, and confounding at the same time, in trying to figure out ‘how’ exactly.

During this twentieth week of Ordinary Time, we find ourselves very much immersed in the resuming of activities and responsibilities that come with the beginning of a new school year here in the north.  Whether you’re a student or not, an inevitable changing of gears happens around this time. We get back into the swing of ordinary life, and it requires a certain re-engaging with what motives us and the purpose and intent behind what we are striving for.

For our dedicated team here at RCSpirituality, we also need to reset and re-engage with how we are responding to this call to “go out to all the world and tell the Good News.”  We ask you to join us in praying for the intercession of our patrons, St. Pope John Paul II and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton as we gather together next week for our annual offsite meetings.  Both saints have been instrumental in inspiring us, challenging us and protecting our work.  During several days we will be discussing, discerning, and praying for clarity in how RCSpirituality can continue to fulfill our mission.  We are passionate about the many creative ways we support and serve you in providing resources that help and accompany you to become a “Complete Christian.”  We would love to hear from you! Let us know if you have any thoughts, recommendations, suggestions, or ideas for the year ahead to help us continue sharing the Good News.

Here at RCSpirituality, we pray every day for the digital pilgrims who use our resources to help their spiritual journey.  A special thank you to our digital missionaries, those of you who support us with your prayers and your donations.  That support enables all of us here to continue serving Christ and his Kingdom.  It’s because of you that we can keep evangelizing the digital continent with the Good News about an infinite God who loves us so much that he gives his very self as food for our souls.

We look forward to sharing more of what is to come in this new school year. Thank you and may God continue to bless you!

In Christ,

Lucy Honner
