Marian Moments: Weekly Message for 09-08-2020
Dear Fellow Digital Pilgrim, Pax Christi:
With the birth of every child, there is new hope and happiness in the world. Next to the birth of Jesus, Mary’s birth offers the greatest possible happiness to the world. Each time we celebrate her birth, we can confidently hope for an increase of peace in our hearts and in the world at large.
In many countries, today’s feast of the Nativity of Mary, Mother of God, falls near the beginning of the academic and fiscal calendars. Just as December 8 (The Immaculate Conception) and January 1(Mother of God) are Marian feasts, marking the beginning of Advent and the civil year respectively. Her birth marks a new chapter in salvation history. The one who would be Mother of the Redeemer is now with us.
Mary invites us to be joyful and grateful reflecting upon the new beginning that God brought about in her and with her. God is at work inviting us to begin again acting in virtue and growing in the knowledge of his presence.
To celebrate, take a moment to be with her in a special way today by praying the rosary, making a visit, or reflecting upon her love for us as her children. Mother Mary is our mother. She truly is our mother and it’s worth celebrating her birthday. Honoring Mary, today, is a way of solidifying our bond with her and assuring her of our desire that she be an important part of our lives.
You might consider drawing closer to Mary and discovering a newness of life with the help of one of our Retreat Guides. Mary surely has something she wants to give to each one of us throughout this month. So maybe it will help to slowly work through our Retreat Guides dedicated to her.
Keep counting on our prayers as we continue striving to find creative ways to help you draw closer to God.
May God bless you and keep you.
