Reconnecting: Weekly Message for 7-25-17

Dear Friends in Christ,

Whether you’re working or studying, summertime is often a time for reconnecting with family and friends as a way to relax and recharge and return to school or
work energized.

There’s actually a day every week where we try to do the same thing: the Lord’s Day. Every Sunday is a day for family and friends, especially our best friend, Our Lord, in the Eucharistic celebration. We spend quality time with our family and with Our Lord to relax and recharge before another week of work or study begins.

Sometimes when you’re on vacation or travelling it’s a little more of a challenge to stay connected with Our Lord. That’s not just searching for a Mass on weekends, but also spending some time to reconnect with him in prayer.

The reason I started the Finding the Plug blog was to help people connect with Our Lord more deeply in the celebration of the Eucharist. I reflect weekly on one of the prayers or rites we find either daily or at special times of the year in the celebration of the Eucharist. If you subscribe to it via e-mail you’ll have some food for thought and prayer every Saturday to help you reconnect.

Wishing you a restful summer in the Lord.
