Meditation Novenas

Meditation Novenas are a new way to experience a particular topic through daily reflection guided by one of our contributing authors.  Check out our available Meditation Novenas here.

The Way of the Cross Through the Face of Jesus

Join us for this meditative look at the Stations of the Cross.

Written and photographed by Fr. Jason Smith, LC, each station reflects an opportunity to gaze into the face of Our Lord and contemplate the Way of the Cross.

Wisdom of Pope Benedict XVI

We invite you to journey through Pope Benedict XVI’s most famous work, Introduction to Christianity.  Written by Fr. Advani Sameer, LC, this five-part Meditation Novena will walk you through the heart of Pope Benedict.

The themes include Faith, God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, and the Church.  Each theme is a separate Meditation Novena released weekly over the course of a year.

When God Seems Hidden

A Meditation Novena in the Footsteps of St. Thérèse

The experience of not seeing Christ or of feeling distant from Christ can be one that affects all of us. We wonder, ‘why is Jesus keeping his face from me?’ or ‘I feel forgotten!’. These are real sensations that we can experience. It isn’t immediately easy to understand or comprehend what is happening to us or within us. Yet, the Lord allows all for a purpose.

Using stories, Scripture, and St Thérèse of Lisieux’s Story of a Soul, this novena of meditations is meant to strengthen the spiritual muscles of our faith and trust in God’s providence, mercy, and loving friendship.

Journey with a Father’s Heart

Pope Francis has dedicated this year to St. Joseph. Join us in a Meditation Novena to prepare for the feast of St. Joseph.

Written by Teresa Williams, CRC, these nine daily meditations will pull text from Pope Francis’s Apostolic Letter: Patris Corde (With the Father’s Heart). Each day will include the text, a short meditation, and a prayer.

Our Lady of Sorrows

Though we are meant for joy, every life has sorrows.  Facing the reality of sorrow, we can either live in denial of the pain or dig deeper for meaning…and joy.  In contemplating the seven sorrows of the Mother of Jesus, we find a model of faith and a way to discover happiness in the midst of suffering.

September 15th is the Memorial of Our Lady of Sorrows.  Join us for a novena based on the meditations in “Journey to Joy” by Fr. Daniel Brandenburg, LC in preparation for the feast day.  Beginning September 6th, we will send a daily email with a short reflection from his book based on the traditional seven sorrows of Mary.  One or two relevant questions will aid in deepening your reflection throughout each day.

Nine Days with Mary Magdalene

Join us as we pray with, learn from, and walk alongside Mary Magdalene to prepare for her feast day, July 22. This meditation novena is a new take on a tried and true Catholic prayer.

Each day will include a written and audio novena prayer and reflection by Jennifer Ristine, CRC, with illustrations by Danielle Storey.

Behold This Heart

Join us for a Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

With an introduction and nine daily video meditations, we will delve into the heart of Jesus and his love for us personally. Each day’s reflection will explore a different virtue of the heart of Christ.

Allow the Holy Spirit to teach and transform you through this nine-day journey with the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Living in the Spirit: A Pentecost Meditation Novena

Living in the Spirit: A Pentecost Meditation Novena is designed to help you delve deeper into the central mysteries of the Holy Spirit. Who is the Holy Spirit for me? How do I relate and experience his presence? How has the Holy Spirit impacted my life? What advice would I share to help someone grow in a relationship with the Holy Spirit?

It will be a powerful opportunity to ponder the mystery of God’s action in the events of our lives and to ask for the light, strength, and love we so sorely need as Christians.
