Day 24 – Advent with the Saints

Trust in the Lord:
What If People Treat Me Poorly Because Of My Faith?

Christmas cards can portray an idyllic scene of the Holy Family. But nothing could be further from the reality of how challenging and uncomfortable it was for Mary to have Jesus born in a stable.

The Holy Family knew what it was like to be rejected. In every age, Christians have dealt with persecutions of all types. We each have our own battles to endure. Whether it be resistance in sharing our faith with others, overcoming temptation, or persevering in our prayer commitments.

When treated poorly we need to strive to keep close to Christ in prayer, to serve others in Christian charity, and to trust in the Lord that he will take care of everything else. As Christians, we believe in the promises of Christ to be with us as the Lord of history. He came into the world to save us and redeem us by his very life.

In this Advent season, how are we accepting the inconveniences or rejections and the challenges of giving Christian witness?

Listen to today’s “Advent with the Saints” reflection to be inspired by the martyrs in their perseverance in trials to witness to their love and faithfulness to Christ.

Today’s Saints – Sts. Chaeremon, St. Ichyrion and martyrs

Our Saint of the Day is St. Chaeremon and St. Ichyrion and other martyrs.  Listen to Uncle Eddy as he invites us to use this saint’s example to inspire us to live our best life in Christ!
