‘Going Deeper’ pilgrimage: Weekly Message for 10-11-16

Dear Fellow Digital Pilgrim, pax Christi:

The old saying “God is never outdone in generosity” ceaselessly comes to mind as our little pilgrimage group continues our journey through Rome during this Jubilee Year of Mercy.  Giving God our time and attention, even when it means making sacrifices, always bears spiritual fruit.  That has been the experience of our pilgrims here in the Eternal City.  God is faithfully speaking to our hearts and minds.

I know many of you wanted to join us on this pilgrimage, but were unable to do so, either because the timing wasn’t right or the expense was too high.  I want you to know that even though you aren’t here with us physically, you are with us spiritually.  In each holy site that we visit, after our historical-cultural tour, we have time for personal prayer, and then we either celebrate a beautiful Mass or come together for a time of Eucharistic adoration or benediction.  As each day unfolds, as we visit each sacred place, I am carrying all of you – all of our digital pilgrims and missionaries throughout the world – in my heart.  You are with us.  We are praying for you.  And God is faithful – he will surely hear our prayers.

And if I may be so bold, I would like to ask you to pray for us as well.  During pilgrimages, as during all intense spiritual activities like mini-retreats and longer-retreats, God has special graces he wants to give us.  But the reality of spiritual warfare reminds us that we aren’t always open to receiving them.  Please pray for all of us pilgrims, that we will be open and docile to whatever the Lord wants to give us or ask of us.  Thank you.

And one more favor – please keep sending us your valuable feedback on all our products and services.  They provide us key insights (and motivation) as we continue our efforts to evangelize the Digital Continent.  God bless you!

In Him,
Fr John Bartunek, LC, SThD
