Growing in Christian Maturity: Weekly Message for 09-17-2019

Dear Digital Pilgrim in Christ,

I am a consecrated woman of the Apostolic Society, The Consecrated Women of Regnum Christi, which is part of a larger Ecclesial Movement called Regnum ChristiWhen I first came in contact with several consecrated women of Regnum Christi (many years ago!), one aspect which deeply attracted me was the strong sense of purpose to be dedicated to the accompaniment and formation of lay apostles to live out their Christian identity in helping to build up Christ’s Kingdom.

For anyone close to us or aware of our recent history in Regnum Christi, you know we have been part of an extensive (and at times painful) period of renewal under the close guidance of the Church.  And just like any family who suffers through loss, tragedy or a crisis of some kind, it can either destroy or strengthen.  For us as a spiritual family, it has been a strengthening process of testing and discernment. In the culmination of this process, the Church recognized and confirmed the authentic charism of Regnum Christi as a path to pursue holiness and a gift from God to benefit the Church and the world.

So, while aspects of our life and mission have been clarified, purified, and ratified, there is one thing that has never changed.  For the New Evangelization, St. Pope John Paul II said, “No believer in Christ, no institution of the Church can avoid this supreme duty: to proclaim Christ to all peoples.”  First, we continually deepen in a profound experience of his presence in our own lives and then share him with others despite all that might be going on around us or happening to us.

More recently we put together “The Formation Pathway” illustrating how Regnum Christi has always been passionate about integral formation—the ongoing pilgrimage of faith that gradually leads us to greater and greater intimacy with God, apostolic fruitfulness, and personal fulfillment.  Formation certainly prepares us for our Christian mission, but at the same time it is our mission; integral formation builds up Christ’s kingdom within us.

More than ever, our culture is moving farther and farther away from its Christian roots, and authentic experience of Christ. We, at RCSpirituality.org, are committed to building a culture that reflects and encourages gospel values.

I really enjoy working with the wonderful team at RCSpirituality to develop and offer Catholic formation resources to help people grow and engage in living their Christian identity.  And it is my sincere hope and prayer that you benefit both to be encouraged and accompanied in your faith journey.

Before ending, I want to express once again RC Spirituality’s gratitude to all of you for your feedback and ongoing support, material and spiritual. We believe in our mission of helping the Church to evangelize the digital continent, and we thank you for believing in us.

Thank you and may God continue to bless you!

In Christ,

Lucy Honner
