What to Look Out for this Spring!: Weekly Message for 3-20-18

Dear Digital Pilgrims in Christ,

This past week the RCSpirituality team has been working hard to again be out and about filming upcoming Retreat Guides.  It has been busy time for us with several new and exciting developments to look forward to sharing with you this coming spring.

All around there are the signs of change with the ushering in of the spring season.  As a time of new growth, with blossoming flowers, longer days, brighter and warmer weather, comes the anticipated excitement for renewal, new life being born, and coming of Easter joy.  At this time of year, we begin to feel less sluggish, and become more open to inviting changes – both big and small – into our lives.

It’s the perfect time of year to redouble our efforts in these last days of Lent to continue opening our hearts to the God’s presence through our daily life of prayer, attention to the needs of others, and offering whatever crosses we have to carry.

Ultimately spring is time for opportunity – a time for cultivating the Lenten graces we have received with courage and optimism, of strengthening our hope in the power of the Resurrection to overcome all obstacles.

So here are a few things to look out for this spring:

  1. “Called and Chosen: A Retreat Guide on St. Matthew the Apostle”

Available March 27 to watch, listen, or read during the Easter season. This Retreat Guide on the Vocation and Calling of St. Matthew reflects on what it means for every single one of us to hear and heed the voice of the Lord in our lives:

  • The First Meditation will look at some of Jesus’ teaching about what a vocation really is.
  • The Second Meditation will focus on the calling of St. Matthew and its unforgettable depiction in Caravaggio’s masterpiece baroque painting.
  • The Conference will give some practical guidelines that we can all use to discern our own vocation, or to help others discern theirs.

2.  A New Look Website

We have been doing our own “spring cleaning” to have a new look with a few tweaks and improvements for our website.  This Easter our website will be updated and improved to keep bringing you great resources to evangelize the digital continent. We look forward to this new design to allow you to more easily navigate through the website with improved mobile adaptability. Thank you for sharing your feedback and your support to keep us finding new and innovative ways to accompany you in your faith journey.

3.  RCSpirituality “Going Deeper” Pilgrimage to the Holy Land (February 22 – March 4, 2019)

Join RCSpirituality for nine days in the land where God himself took flesh and redeemed the world.  Spiritually and geographically, we will join the Apostles and the Blessed Virgin Mary during the nine days between Christ’s Ascension and the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost – the first novena in the history of the Church.  Just as the Apostles would have contemplated their experience, in Mary’s company, during those nine days of prayerful waiting, so too will we.  Registration details will be available soon.

4.  Our RCSpirituality team is growing!

Over the next few weeks we will be introducing our new Production Assistant, Deb Levy who will be joining the team to support in production delivery.  Deb, along with several other volunteers make what we do here at RCSpirituality possible.

These are just a few ways that we continue to accompany you in your journey with Christ.  I wanted to thank all of you for your continued prayers and support.  Without them, we couldn’t continue with our mission of evangelizing the digital continent.

Happy Spring!
Keep counting on our prayers.

God bless you!
In Christ, Lucy Honner, CRC
