Rev. Sameer Advani LC

BIO

Fr Sameer Advani, LC is Canadian priest ordained in 2015, with degrees in mathematics, philosophy, and theology. He works in the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in Rome as Director of the ‘Christianity and Culture’ Program, and as Professor of Phenomenology and Philosophy of Religion. He also collaborates at the Vatican’s Pontifical Council for Culture and the Ratzinger Foundation and is the director of the Vatican’s Cricket Team.

Fr. John Bartunek, LC, S.Th.D, received his BA in History from Stanford University in 1990. He comes from an evangelical Christian background and became a member of the Catholic Church in 1991. After college he worked as a high school history teacher, drama director, and baseball coach. He then spent a year as a professional actor in Chicago before entering the religious Congregation of the Legionaries of Christ in 1993. He was ordained a Catholic priest in 2003 and earned his doctorate in moral theology in 2010. He provided spiritual support on the set of Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ while researching the 2005 Catholic best seller, Inside the Passion, the only authorized, behind-the-scene explanation of the film. Fr. John has contributed news commentary regarding religious issues on NBC, CNN, Fox, and the BBC. He also served as the English-language press liaison for the Vatican’s 2005 Synod of Bishops on the Eucharist. His most widely known book is called The Better Part: A Christ-Centered Resource for Personal Prayer. His most recent books are Seeking First the Kingdom: 30 Meditations on How to Love God with All Your Heart, Soul, Mind, and Strength, and Answers: Catholic Advice for Your Spiritual QuestionsFr. John currently spends his time in Michigan where he continues his writing apostolate and serves as a confessor and spiritual director). Born and raised in Kansas and moving to Seattle, Denver, Boston, Philadelphia and Las Vegas gave change and brilliant colors to Maggie Biggs’ life. Along with her husband for close to 50 years, she has been enriched and blessed by the gift of 3 adopted children, now adults, and two grandkids. She pursued a nursing career in her early married life with her first love being in intensive coronary care. Her passion is now for spiritual hearts in and out of the Catholic Church.

She has been transformed after multiple conversions from addiction, resisting and rebelling against confession, the rosary, submission, etc. Her invitation to you is to hear how Jesus became her personal intimate Lord and Savior which replaced her textbook vision and understanding of Him.

Rev. Daniel Brandenburg LC

BIO

Fr Daniel was ordained a priest with the Legionaries of Christ on December 22, 2007. He currently serves as chaplain of the Lumen Institute, chaplain of Regnum Christi men, and chaplain of Young Catholic Professionals in Atlanta, GA. He is also the chairman of the board of directors for Catholic World Mission. He holds summa cum laude licentiate degrees in philosophy and theology from the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in Rome, Italy, and is currently pursuing a doctorate through Creighton University’s Interdisciplinary Leadership Program.

In 2016, Fr Daniel survived a heart attack and in 2018 was diagnosed with multiple myeloma cancer. The experience of suffering and brushes with death has colored his outlook on life. He strives to live each day as a gift from God.

Fr Daniel is the author of five published books: The New Fundamentalists (2007), Better with God? (2012), Until Christ be Formed in You (2017), Journey to Joy: Reflections on the Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary (2019), and Now and Forever (2021). He is writing a forthcoming book provisionally entitled Lessons from the Workshop of Saint Joseph. He posts a regular video with insights for life on Instagram and Facebook.

Glory Darbellay is originally from Saskatchewan, Canada, and has been consecrated to Our Lord for twenty four years. She has a Bachelors degree in Pastoral Studies, and a Masters degree in Religious Sciences. Her ministries have included; youth ministry, adult pastoral ministry, national director for RC Mission Corps, member of the council for the woman of Regnum Christi in North America, and member of the Regnum Christi Territorial Committee. Currently, she is a spiritual director and preacher at Our Lady of Bethesda Retreat Center.

Fr. Nikola Derpich LC, SThD

Fr Nikola Derpich, LC, SThD, entered the Legionaries of Christ in 1997 after working for seven and a half years in the computer industry. He professed perpetual vows in 2005 and was ordained in 2006. He has worked in vocational promotion, on Sacerdos magazine, as a tutor for LC seminarians, and as a theology professor in the U.S. and Italy. From 2017-2020 he served as an Associate Pastor in a parish and is the author of Maximizing the Mass and the editor and translator of The Kingdom of Christ: History, Theology, Life. He has worked with RC Spirituality since 2015.

Donna Garrett

Donna Garrett, a nurse by trade, has been a member of Regnum Christi for 20 years. She has been married to Jeff for 30 years and they have four grown children. Donna has worked extensively in RC sections, missions, and formation teams. She currently serves on the governance committee for the territory and directs the evangelization department in North America. She and her husband Jeff, often travel and speak together.

Jeff has have been a member of Regnum Christi since 1999. He is a Locality Director for the Heartland, and he has led summer camps, the Leadership Training Program, and Conquest. He has also been on mission trips to Mexico and Haiti.

Their home is an open door to the Legion, the consecrated women, and other members of Regnum Christi who pass through Omaha. We are known for great steak, good wine, bourbon, and the man cave.

He is currently an Executive Business Coach and also hosts The Regular Catholic Guy Show.

Michelle Hoffman joined the RCSpiritualty team in March of 2018 as the RC Formation Pathway Coordinator.  She has been a member of Regnum Christi since 2002 and is passionate about Formation. Michelle has many years of experience in formation and leadership roles. She is involved in her parish and enjoys reading, fake camping (glamping) in the Rocky Mountains, quiet walks, playing board games and cards. She lives in Calgary, Canada, with her husband Ryan.

Lucy Honner, CRC

Lucy Honner is the director of the Regnum Christi Spirituality Center, an online resource for innovate ways to evangelize the digital continent. She is originally from Adelaide, South Australia where she worked professionally as an architect. In 1997 she felt drawn to dedicate a year of service to the Catholic Church through missionary work with Regnum Christi in the United States. The following year Lucy experienced God’s call to dedicate her life to serving Christ and others as a consecrated member of Regnum Christi. She received her degree in education and religious sciences, and since 1998 has exercised her apostolate as a speaker, spiritual director and retreat director for Regnum Christi throughout North America, including Washington DC, Minneapolis, MN, Atlanta, GA, Denver, CO and San Jose, CA. She currently resides in Bethesda, MD.

Jennifer Ristine has been consecrated since 1997. She is currently stationed in the DC area serving as a contributor for the RC Spirituality Center. She obtained her Masters in Theology from Catholic Distance University. Jenniferwas a professor in Mater Ecclesiae College from 2003-2014. From 2014 to 2018 she served in Magdala, Israel as Director of Magdalena Institute, Visitors’ Center Coordinator, and Media Spokesperson. She is the author of Mary Magdalene: Insights from Ancient Magdala.
